Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh<\/a> a 57-year-old Tusker named Anarkali gave birth to a female calf on Saturday. She was brought to Bandhavgarh National Park from a cattle fair in Bihar in the year 1978-79. In her entire lifetime she has given birth to eight calves, out of which only four survived and all are healthy. The latest one is a female who is named Gayatri.<\/p>\nAccording to Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) Alok Kumar – the newborn female calf is named Gayatri and it will surely be a center of attraction for tourists in the coming days.”<\/em><\/p>\nHe also said that at present there are 14 Elephants in Bandhavgarh National Park who are deployed patrolling and Tiger Tracking in the park throughout the year and they were also given a long break from their daily routines. During that time, they were pampered with Sugarcanes, Apples, Bananas, Jaggery and also daily washed and properly groomed with Sandalwood powder.<\/p>\n
