Nestled in the Tala Village, the Maharaja Royal Retreat was formerly a hunting lodge owned by the Maharaja of Rewa and remains in their possession. Spread over 16 acres adjacent to the park's tri-junction, this heritage property is unique in housing an exclusive museum guided by a heritage specialist, and ancient trees, some as old as 350 years. Rich in bird life due to its bamboo and other trees, Maharaja's Royal Retreat offers guests a glimpse into the royal past, with experiences reminiscent of royal camps, spacious living areas decorated in a style reflecting the regal past, and cuisine straight from the royal kitchen.

The Maharaja Royal Retreat features 15 luxurious rooms, housed in comfortable mud huts with thatched roofs, twin beds, and an inner courtyard. They offer modern facilities, including TV and telephone, along with attached bathrooms equipped with hot and cold showers, and comfortable furnishings. The resort also arranges for trekking and nature walks. The Maharaja Royal Retreat enhances its offerings with a library and a museum dedicated to royal hunting.

The resort's restaurant serves an array of delicacies, encompassing Indian, Continental, and Chinese cuisines. In addition, it offers room service and laundry services, ensuring guests have a comfortable and convenient stay.
